The newest inductees to enter the Hall of Fame include four standout former Mustangs and a highly successful Orange and Blue football team from the 1960′s. They are perfect examples of the fine athletes who have played for Penn Yan Academy who have effectively added to the rich sports heritage in the Penn Yan community.
The PYA Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2017 features Michael Manley (PYA Class of 2007), Paul Chapman (PYA Class of 1979), Jennifer Miles McKie (PYA Class of 1995), and Raymond (Butch) Mashewske (PYA Class of 1983). The new class will also honor the championship Penn Yan Mustang football of 1967.
The PYA Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2017 will be formally inducted on Friday, Sept. 22 at a ceremony in the Penn Yan Academy Auditorium following the annual HOF Banquet in the school’s cafeteria. The Class of 2017 will also be honored at the annual homecoming football game during the halftime activities Saturday, Sept. 23.
