Digital Equity Survey The importance of access to devices and reliable internet has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this access will remain necessary in the future. To support the goal of closing the digital equity gap, the New York State Education Department put together an annual survey for all schools to administer and then report results back to NYSED. Student Vaccination Clinic at PYA The Yates County Department of Health will be hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic at Penn Yan Academy for Academy students. The clinic will be held from 12:30 -2:00pm on Friday, October 15th in the Penn Yan Academy Cafeteria. If you are interested in having your student vaccinated please call the Penn Yan Academy Main Office at 315-536-4408 ext.1 to sign up. Varsity Football Game Declared No Contest The Penn Yan/Dundee Varsity Football game at Livonia tomorrow(10.2.21) has been declared a no contest due to the lack of available players on our team due to quarantining. All individuals who are required to quarantine will be contacted by the NYS Contact Tracers/Yates County Dept. of Health. Today's (10.1.21) varsity practice has also been cancelled out of an abundance of caution.
Updates to Guidelines 9.3.21 I'm sure that over the last few days you have seen a flurry of new information and guidelines coming from the Governor and State Department of Health. 2021 Fall Sports Code of Conduct The mandatory Parent/Athlete/Coaches meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, August 19th has been changed to an online video. You will NOT need to come in person to the school tomorrow (8/19/21) evening. You can access the video on the Penn Yan Athletics Youtube page. District Update This afternoon, the district received a concerning phone call. Out of an abundance of caution, we locked down the buildings and contacted law enforcement. Upon investigation, there was no actual threat.
Athletic Awards Update The 55th Annual Penn Yan Academy Athletic Program will be on Monday, June 21st at 6:00pm in the PYA Auditorium. This is a change from the school calendar. This event is invitation only and any athletes earning an award will receive a personal invitation in the mail. The event will also be live streamed to the Athletics Youtube channel and accessible via the Athletics/Academy/District Facebook pages!
