Large Animal Science
The focus of this course will be on farm animals such as cows, horses, pigs, sheep, and other related animals as well as
exotic farm animals. Topics will include animal reproduction, nutrition, health, training and management, anatomy and
physiology. Basic veterinary technology will be explored.

Students will:
- Learn about the meat and dairy industry
Learn the basics of dairy and meat science. - Gain career skills for future employment or for enrollment and attendance in college.
- Have the opportunity to participate in a supervised work experience.
- Have the opportunity to compete in the NY FFA Vet Science contest.
This class can count as a 3rd unit of Science.
