Work Shadowing

Work Based Learning - Work Shadowing:

Work Shadowing is a Work-Based Learning opportunity open to all Penn Yan Academy students. This program enables interested students to observe employees in businesses and organizations as they perform their daily tasks. By participating in Work Shadowing, students will have the chance to ask questions, explore different roles, learn about the challenges faced by the organization, and understand their customer base. This program aims to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the professional world.

Program Highlights:

  • Flexible Focus: Students have the freedom to explore a diverse range of jobs and organizations or concentrate on a specific sector, such as Health Care.
  • Tailored Experience: Work Shadowing is designed to accommodate even the most restrictive student schedules, ensuring that all students can participate.
  • Guided Matching: Penn Yan Academy will take the responsibility of finding suitable businesses/organizations for shadowing experiences and assist students in making meaningful work shadowing matches.
  • Scheduling Assistance: We will work with students to develop schedules that fit their academic commitments.
  • Transportation Support: If needed, transportation arrangements can be provided to ensure that students can take full advantage of this opportunity.
  • Feedback and Reflection: The program will conclude with a period of feedback, discussion, and reflection, allowing students to process their experiences and insights gained.
