PYA Guidance Office

 

The Penn Yan Academy Guidance Office consists of two school counselors, our Work Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator, and our secretary.

 

Dianne Fingar serves as the secretary in the PYA Guidance Office. As our Student Records and SchoolTool Coordinator, she can assist students and parents with a variety of needs and can be reached at: [email protected]

 

Our WBL Coordinator, Mr. Warren Kinsey, assists all students at PYA by arranging job shadowing experiences within Penn Yan and nearby communities, as well as organizing career-related field trips. School counselors provide academic, college & career, and social/emotional support and guidance to all students, grades 9-12.

FLCC will host a Virtual Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, September 23 at 6:00 p.m.

This free event is designed for high school juniors, seniors, and their families who want to learn more about the financial aid process for college. The information presented will be general and is not specific to attending FLCC. Students planning to attend any college are welcome to participate.

Financial aid professionals will provide an overview of common financial aid applications and programs, including:

• FAFSA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid
• TAP – New York State Tuition Assistance Program
• Excelsior Scholarship
• CSS Profile
