Scheduling Process
PYA school counselors meet individually with students in grades 9-11 to select their courses for the following school year. The course selection sheet with instructions on how to download the course offering booklet (see link below) is distributed to all students before Thanksgiving break. This resource can be used to review the scheduling process, graduation requirements, dual enrollment programs and opportunities, and descriptions of each course available at PYA.
The current 8th grade students and parents will receive information focusing on the scheduling process and opportunities that are available at the high school. Middle school counselors meet with 8th grade students to select their courses for their 9th grade school year.
Students' course requests will be mailed home with the 3rd quarter report cards. Parents and/or students can contact the appropriate PYA counselor with any questions, concerns, changes to these course requirements.
