King Brennan

King Brennan was a standout athlete at Penn Yan Academy in the 1940s.  A 1948 graduate of PYA, King played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track.  King was a member of the 1944 football team, a Hall of Fame team.   He is credited with a career batting average of .477.  He helped lead his team to a League Title in 1947.  He earned tryouts with the Cleveland Indians and the New York Giants.  Mr. Brennan was well known in the Penn Yan community for the volunteer work  of coaching CYO basketball and Little League baseball.  He is described as a coach who taught fundamentals, effort, and teamwork.
