Melvin Brinson
Mr. Brinson was a 1962 graduate of Penn Yan Academy. As stated in the 1962 Yearbook, he was “A fellow with a love of sports and devotion for his teams”. Melvin was a three sport athlete as a member of the football, wrestling, and track and field Teams. A co-captain of the football team, Brinson was a standout running back for the Mustangs.
On the mat, Mr. Brinson was undefeated over four years of wrestling. He was a four time Finger Lakes League and Section V Champion.
Melvin moved to Rochester following graduation and worked for Kodak before retiring in Florida. Mr. Brinson passed away in 2013.
