1967-1968 Boys Basketball Team

After a slow start to the 1967-68 basketball season (the team started the season with 1 win and five losses) the team returned from Christmas break to win nine of twelve games making them eligible for sectional play.  It was sectional play when the team shined.  They defeated LeRoy and Arcade (the defending champion with a 31 game win streak) on their way to the Finals.  In the Finals, PYA beat Pal-Mac to win the Section Championship.   The town celebrated the win with the team as hundreds of students and community members made the trip to the War Memorial. The “Cinderella” Mustangs were known for their never give up attitude, teamwork, and their dedication to their goals.
