05/06 Boys Basketball Team

The team’s regular season was considered average with losses to several high powered teams. The post-season was a different story.  The Mustangs played the role of underdog with victories over Waterloo (after losing to them by 17 points only a week prior), Hornell who came into the game with a 20-1 record, then School of the Arts who was fresh off a victory over state ranked Pal-Mac.  Following the Sectional Championship win over the School of the Arts, the PYA defense held Bishop Kearney to 45 points as they beat the Kings to win the state tournament play-in game.  The historic season ended with a loss to the eventual state champion, Lackawanna.
