Theodore "Ted" Griesinger

A multisport athlete, Ted Griesinger played football, basketball, baseball, and tennis during his time at Penn Yan Academy. His versatility and sportsmanship set a high standard for future generations of athletes at the school.  Ted especially excelled in baseball where he had a .900 win percentage as a pitcher in 1947. Ted attended the United States Military Academy at West Point upon graduation, where he continued to play baseball.  Following West Point, Ted served in Korea as a Field Artillery Battery Commander where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
